Enchanted Knolls is a Mill Valley neighborhood that is still in discovery and transition. The neighborhood is perched on a west-facing hillside close to Hauke Park, bike trails, Highway 101, and Mill Valley’s newest Whole Foods. Enchanted Knolls’ real estate mix is mostly comprised of single-family homes along with several condominium developments. The neighborhood has a strong sense of community with many long-term residents.

Enchanted Knolls is one of the closest Mill Valley neighborhoods to the San Francisco Bay, and the location provides a perfect balance of being close to everything. Residents have their choice of shopping and dining in several Mill Valley neighborhoods, while Highway 101 access means San Francisco can be reached in under 25 minutes. Homes are also close to parks, trails, and award-winning schools.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Whole Foods Market on Blithedale Avenue is one of two Mill Valley outposts of the popular organic grocery store chain. Inside you’ll find a great selection of fresh produce and other every day essentials plus deliciously prepared foodstuffs such as pizza slices and sandwiches. Right next to Whole Foods, The Cantina is an inviting spot for Mexican cuisine. The Cantina has an outdoor patio with fire pits and two indoor fireplaces. The menu features a wide choice of scrumptious enchiladas, burritos, fajitas, and other Mexican specialties. Drinks options include excellent margaritas and a great selection of wines.
Enchanted Knolls is also within easy reach of more shopping and dining in Sycamore Park, Strawberry, and Downtown Mill Valley. Some of Sycamore Park’s most popular businesses include frozen yogurt bar Mill Valley Swirl and vibrant Puerto Rican restaurant Sol Food. Strawberry Village Shopping Center features recognizable brands such as West Elm, Starbucks, and In-N-Out Burger alongside many independent restaurants, retailers, and health and beauty services. For groceries, Strawberry’s shopping center offers a 24-hour Safeway and specialty Iberian supermarket The Spanish Table.
Downtown Mill Valley is packed with coffee shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. You can buy books and coffee at Depot Bookstore & Café, enjoy gourmet espresso blends at Pete’s Coffee or Equator Coffees, and see live music performances at Sweetwater Music Hall. Mill Valley’s downtown dining scene includes La Ginestra and several other sophisticated Italian eateries. There’s also authentic South East Asian street food at Boo Koo, hearty American-style comfort eats at Phyllis’ Giant Burgers, and creative Indian/Mexican fusion cuisine at Avatar’s Punjabi Burritos.
Things to Do
The playground and sports fields at Hauke Park are favorite places for local kids. The park also has grass lawns, picnic tables, and a footbridge leading to the 3.7-mile Mill Valley Sausalito Pathway. A creek to the south of Hauke Park separates it from the scenic waterfront stretch of Bayfront Park. This scenic, dog-friendly park has stunning views across the Bay to San Francisco, plus trails, benches, grassy lawns, and a soccer field.
Mill Valley Community Center on the west side of Enchanted Knolls offers many meeting rooms and recreation facilities. The Community Center is comprised of several buildings, one of which houses an impressive aquatics center. The aquatics center has a swimming pool with a retractable roof, jacuzzi spa, and a 120-foot spiral water slide. The Community Center is surrounded by large grassy fields for playing sports.
