Almonte and Homestead Valley are located on the west side of Mill Valley, just south of downtown and adjacent to the Golden Gate Recreation Area. Mill Valley Swirl. Downtown Mill Valley is around 10 minutes away by car.
The Golden Gate Recreation Area extends over 82,000 acres to the west of these neighborhoods. Many miles of hiking trails run through the recreation area’s gorgeous natural scenery. Head west through this expanse of redwood groves to the sandy shoreline of Muir Beach on the Pacific Ocean coastline. There are lots of
hiking trails within Almonte and Homestead Valley with a wealth of scenery to explore.
